Description :
We have a Qmail Email server with around 2000 email accounts. The problem is that every couple of weeks the mail queue goes really high and we have to login to the server using Secure Shell to disable email sending (smtp) for 5 ,6 or even 24hrs depending on how large the mail queue is.
We are really getting feedup with this and i want an expert coder to tell me how we can fix this for good or give me the codes/commands that i need to use or areas that we need to look in each time this happens instead of just turning smtp off and then back on as even when we do this sometimes it doesn't resolve the problem it would clear the queue but as soon as we turn it back on the system resources go up & queues build up again.
I need a coder to help me with this through MSN Messenger and tell me where to go and what I need to do as I will not be able to provide the root password.
Please only bid if you understand the project requirement and if you are familiar with mail servers specially Qmail.
The current status are below (when using the checkit command)
Messages in local queue: 2201
Messages in remote queue: 56
Messages in todo queue: 932
messages in queue: 3189
messages in queue but not yet preprocessed: 914
9:39am up 79 days, 12:42, 1 user, load average: 2.62, 2.81, 3.95
i use svc -d /service/qmail-smtpd to turn it back on but all the queues go up again which causes email delays & people losing their emails or emails not getting through
Also webmail is playing up and not displaying emails or when we change customer passwords it doesnt change it for webmail.
You also need to have mysql skills.
