Description :
I am working on an e-commerce software application (an out-of-the box shop builder, called EasyWare). I would like professionally designed and very good-looking/appropriate box for the software. I really am not sure how I will select the preferred designer without seeing suggestions, so the bidding process may - sadly - involve some work on your part.
I would like the work done with Quark/Photoshop. I would also like ALL files, including the original .psd files, in order to enable me to make any necessary changes. I would like the work send to me in both windows (if it is done in apple mac, please send both the mac files and the converted windows files). also send a clear, printed proof.

If I might make some suggestions for you, then here they are.
1. Doing the file in photoshop is a bad idea. In order to understand why, you'd have to understand vector and raster graphics and why you don't want type to BE in raster format for the best printing. Further, the files that would be produced by a box or cd cover in layers would be HUGE. There are much better ways to handle a file of that size, such as InDesign to PDF/x.
2. Think about whether or not you’d work for free, because thats what you’re asking. Those people who are willing to design programs like yours for free are probably not very good programmers, correct? No one is going to come up with the "magic design". They will take your suggestions and together you will develop a design based on how that designer works, and how they work with you. You need to develop a little bit of trust in a designer in their ability to design for you.
3. Any designer who has done all this work for free just to prove himself is likely to feel a little shortchanged. You want someone who is skilled at what they do, who is happy and pleased to let you edit and change the design, and do the work they’re being paid for. People who are that good at their job pretty much want to get paid for their work, all the time.
4. For consistency, it makes sense to have the same designer to do the box and
the CD.
You may not choose me, but thats okay. I’m really good, and I don’t work for free unless you're a non profit.
